Launch Checklist

The Map Shows Before Your Website Does

If a new Toronto business could only do one marketing task, we'd tell them: verify your Google Business Profile.

It's free, and for local discovery it outperforms almost everything you could pay for. When someone searches “your service + near me,” Google shows the map pack before any website. If you're not in it, you don't exist for that search — no matter how good your site is.

The launch-day local SEO stack, in order of impact

  1. Google Business Profile — claimed, verified, categories set, photos added.
  2. Page titles that name your city (“Plumber in Etobicoke,” not just “Services”).
  3. Structured data — code that tells Google explicitly what you are and where you serve.
  4. A sitemap submitted to Search Console, so Google finds every page.
  5. Consistent name and details everywhere your business appears online.

What we won't tell you: that any of this guarantees rankings. Nobody honest will. It's the groundwork rankings are built on — and it's ten times easier to do at launch than to retrofit later.

This is item 5 of 9 on our Business Launch Bundle checklist — the local SEO foundation, done at launch.
